Richard I. Miller
Certified Elder Law Attorney
Richard Miller is Co-Chair of the New Jersey Elder Law Center at Mandelbaum Salsburg and Co-Chair of Mandelbaum Salsburg’s Special Needs Practice. He is designated as a “Certified Elder Law Attorney” by the National Elder Law Foundation, an American Bar Association accredited organization. His practice is focused on Elder Law, Guardianships, Planning for Individuals with Special Needs, Estate Planning, Asset Protection, Estate Administration and Probate Litigation. Richard also often provides fiduciary services and serves as Executor and Administrator in complex estate matters. Richard serves as guardian for disabled individuals, Trustee for Supplemental Needs Trusts, and as a Mediator for probate litigation matters.
Richard received his J.D. in 1992 from Rutgers Law School and his B.A. in 1989 from Rutgers College. He is admitted to practice in New Jersey, New York and Colorado.
Richard has been selected by his peers as a New Jersey Super Lawyer from 2010-2018 and he was the recipient of the 2011 Professional Lawyer of the Year Award by the Passaic County Bar Association and the New Jersey Commission on Professionalism in the Law. He was also the recipient of the Distinguished Practitioner of the Year Award for Chancery/Probate by the Passaic County Bar Association in 2015.
Richard is Past-President and a Trustee of the Passaic County Bar Association, and a Court-Approved Mediator. He frequently lectures on topics related to elder law, government benefit planning and guardianships before professional, community and financial groups and is committed to helping others be informed on changes in his area of expertise.
He is a member of the Passaic County Bar Association and Chair of its Elder Law Section, the New Jersey State Bar Association’s Elder Law Section, Real Property, Probate and Trust Section, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and the Academy of Special Needs Planners.
